# NaaS Cloud Infrastructure for on-demand virtualized networking and computing services (NaaS))

Beyond the virtualization of network functions and the “softwarisation” of the control plan with NFV/SDN, the novel “cloudified” network and system infrastructure will need to provide a complete orchestration of the virtualization at all level of the network stack including the application level. This is to provide fully on-demand end-to-end controllable, flexible, resilient and cost-effective services to the end users. For this aim, we plan to provide models to design compound service by composition of existing basic Network Services (NaaS) or other computing services (e.g. SaaS) to allow service architects to specify, create and quickly deploy innovative compound service with end-to-end control on the network and system resources. We will take benefit from the the power of virtualisation and cloud technologies to propose novel efficient solutions. Standard specification models of network and system resources will be studied including thus proposed by the cloud and grid communities. Standardisation will be a very important actor in this area to allow interoperability between NFV functions developed by different providers but also the more general case of interoperability between Network and Computing Services of one provider with Network and Computing Services of another provider possibility hosted in heterogeneous clouds. We will particularly follow standardisation activities in the field in particular the "Virtualization Management Group" of the DMTF (Distributed Management Task Force) and the "Uses Cases of NaaS" Working group of ITU-T -International Telecommunication Union". More specifically, the contribution in this theme will be a complete review of state of art of existing related works, the designof a NaaS platform with the associated tools that will allow the specification, validation, deployment and management of on-demand, end-to-end compound networking and computing services. This will include a specification model for NaaS services composition as well as a suite of tools to optimize the deployment, placement, orchestration and configuration of these services based on the specification. The NaaS platform will permit to virtualized network function of “softwarized” SDN to be instantiated in a cloud infrastructure but also designed in such a way it benefit from all the functionalities of this infrastructures (multi-tenancy, scalability, on-demand resources, resources adaptation. UEVE and UFC will bring together their competences in this area. UEVE will bring in its important expertise in IaaS platforms while UFC will bring in its important competence in the monitoring technics of of virtualized ressources. This theme is central to the project and will be conducted closely with the activities of other themes.
